A throwback to last winter in Minnesota when I initially began my camera trapping journey. I chose to try and camera trap martens in a black spruce and tamarack bog in northeast MN. While I eventually captured a few fabulous images, it took a lot of failed attempts to get there. This just goes to show that with patience, persistence, and a large dollop of luck, you can succeed!

Porcupines are quite interesting critters, and I've been seeing a ton of their activity since getting back to NH, perhaps more than any year prior. Often, the most obvious sign porcupines leave, in this part of their range, are nipped hemlock bows on the ground. As spring entices the growth of new buds, porcupines will be seeking out deciduous trees to feast on the fresh leaves.
