Ghost of the Forest - Written by Ben Wymer After four months of checking this site, finally, I caught a glimpse of the young one. As I peered upward through my viewfinder in awe, I heard the faint rustle of a branch, as though it had been weighted down. A second...

Mustelid Mystery This weekend, I was hiking in the White Mountains when I came across a conspicuous fecal deposit right in the middle of the trail, so naturally, I just had to take a picture and investigate further! First, some background as to the habitat and other...

I had such an incredible encounter with two otters I had such an incredible encounter with two otters a couple days ago. This individual hauled out onto this log, right in front of me. I couldn't believe it! Honestly, it was so close that I had a hard time getting the otter's entire body in frame since I was using a fixed 500mm lens. Hope you all enjoy these shots!

During a recent canoe trip I took in the Boundary During a recent canoe trip I took in the Boundary Waters, the Aurora made a spectacular showing on the last night of the trip. As one of the darkest and quietest places in the lower 48-states, I sat watching the extraordinary lights playing across the sky for hours, all while listening to the ethereal calls of loons. Here is a panorama I took of the Aurora and the Milky Way.

Last week, a beautiful bear walked along the edge Last week, a beautiful bear walked along the edge of this wetland. They showed surprising restraint with my camera thankfully, making this the second time a bear has walked by without messing with my setup. I'm so grateful they didn't because my camera was right on the edge of the water!
